"Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda is scheduled to arrive at the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague on October 9, 2009 to confer Bintang Mahaputra Utama medals of merit on them for their services in enhancing bilateral relations," Teuku Faizasyah said here on Friday.

Bot, who was the Dutch foreign minister from 2003 to 2007 is considered successful in enhancing the relations between the two countries, particularly in struggling for his country`s moral and political acceptance of Indonesia`s independence proclamation on August 17, 1945, he said.

In addition, Bot and Wirajuda once signed an agreement on the two countries` commitment to implement comprehensive partnership mechanism through dialogs and cooperation, he said.

Van Baalen, who is also a member of the Dutch opposition party VVD, is considered outspoken in keeping the Dutch parliament`s consistent support for Indonesia`s integrity, he said.
Meanwhile, Brijl is the president of the Horizon Holland organization engaged in the social field, particularly the health sector, he said.

Brijl, along with his organization had contributed to enhanced relations between the two countries by, among other things, cooperating with the Indonesian health ministry in extending Dutch medical assistance, he said.
